Statutory interest rate 2% higher from 1 July 2023

From 1 July 2023, the statutory interest rate has increased by 2%. In case of delay in the payment of a sum of money, statutory interest is due for the period during which the debtor was in default of payment.

Non-trading transactions: 6%

The statutory interest rate for non-trading transactions is the interest rate for all contracts with private individuals or consumers. This interest rate is 6% from 1 July 2023.

Trading transactions: 12%

The statutory interest rate for trading transactions is the interest rate for all contracts with companies and government organizations. This interest rate is 12% from 1 July 2023.

Credit

The statutory interest rate on credit has increased from 12% to 14% (statutory interest rate with a surcharge of 8%) from 1 July 2023.
